Rainfold Pavilion

Rainfold Pavilion is a family of elevated rooms connected by covered bridges. The architecture touches the forest lightly: dark timber frames sit on narrow supports, volcanic-stone cores stabilize each pavilion, and deep folded roofs collect rain while protecting broad screened openings.

The main pavilion contains a kitchen, dining room and open living space surrounded on three sides by canopy. Six sleeping pavilions are distributed along the slope, giving every suite privacy and a direct relationship to the forest. An open-air bathing deck hovers above ferns near the stream, while a separate studio can serve as a research room or guest workspace.

The property protects twenty-one hectares of established habitat. Paths follow existing clearings, exterior lighting is tightly controlled and water is treated on site. Passive ventilation does most of the work; efficient systems support enclosed rooms only when required. Rainfold is luxurious through immersion and precision rather than enclosure — a place where weather remains present, but never unmanaged.
